Big V Wines was founded by Vernon Kirsten, who found it very difficult to drink the white wines off the shelves at stores.
These shelf wines contained too many sulphites and this caused medical problems in his body, creating ulcers. Heavy Sulphites also cause hay fever type reactions in many people.
On his Doctors advice he was recommended to rather drink alternative spirits and water, so Vernon created BIG V wines which is wines without added sulphur and he LOVES them – hence creating his own brand.
I decided to look for a wine/wines that contained very little sulphur or government required level sulphur and requested the farmer not to add any additional Sulphur so that the wine still maintains its lovely taste and original flavours.
I trust you will enjoy my first batch of wines – Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir and when you read the tasting notes, you will really experience those wonderful flavours coming through.
